Joanne Pritchard-Sobhani - Professional Member (President)

Joanne Pritchard-Sobhani has been practicing Acupuncture and TCM since 1995. She has extensive education and clinical training in Acupuncture and TCM having studied at various universities and hospitals, most notably the Institute of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Joanne established The Institute of Acupuncture & Traditional Chinese Medicine and is a founding member of CARB-TCMPA. She was a member of the College’s Transitional Council from 2008 – 2013, President of the College from 2011 – 2013, and was re-elected as President from 2013 – 2016.

Xianmin Yu - Professional Member (Vice President)

Xianmin Yu is a Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioner and Acupuncturist who received his Bachelor Degree and Master Degree in Beijing University of Chinese Medicine and Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine respectively in China. He also has another Master Degree in Kinesiology at Western University in Canada. He has been serving his clients in clinic for 17 years.

Kimberley Bishop - Public Member

Kim has been very active in local healthcare. She was Property Manager and Administrator on Bancroft Health Care Centre for 30 years and Office Manager and Administrator of Bishop Dental Corp. for 40 years. She has been a long time community advocate for excellent health care close to home. Kim consulted and/or Chaired several capital fund raising campaigns including the construction of a new hospital, dialysis clinic, digital x-ray and annual medical equipment purchases. Currently she is VP of Bancroft and Community Family Health Team, Board Member of Quinte Health Care/Belleville General Hospital Foundation and Chair of Quinte Health Care North Hastings Hospital Foundation. Kim is also a Board Member of Highlands Opera Studio. A proud Mom of 2 sons and Nan to three wonderful little grandchildren

Meiying Chen - Professional Member

Meiying Chen is a Registered Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioner (R. TCMP) and a Registered Acupuncturist (R. Ac) in Ontario since 2018. Originally, Meiying graduated from the Fujian University of Traditional Chinese Medicine (China) in 2008 and then started practicing Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) in different clinical environments. During those years, Meiying gained considerable real-world clinical experience for various conditions. During her clinical practice, she also explored and compared the differences and similarities between Western medicine and TCM to bridge the two health care systems.

Iftikhar Choudry - Public Member

Iftikhar Choudry has an Associate Engr. Diploma in Electrical, BA with Economics and MBA. Worked in Energy Sector selling Power Generation, Oil Refining and Process Industry machinery. Attended many Conferences and Exhibitions in Europe and North America. Worked in GE Power Systems, Canada as Regional Commercial Manager. Specializes in increasing Exports to other Countries. Volunteers with Churches and Mosques. Helps Food Banks in Collection of donations. Active in Political Arena of Canada. Recipient of Queens Diamond Jubilee Medal for Community Service.

Judy Cohen- Public Member

Judy Cohen is a qualified mediator, and she volunteers with TNG The Neighbourhood Group: St. Stephen’s Community House, Toronto: Conflict Resolution and Training. Her background is in education, as a Teacher and Vice Principal. Ms. Cohen served on the Healing Arts Radiation Protection (HARP) Commission and previously completed 9 years as a Public Member on the Council of the College of Psychologist of Ontario. She volunteers bi-weekly at Sunnybrook Hospital.

Kathy Feng - Professional Member

Bo (Kathy) Feng, is a Registered Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioner and Acupuncturist since 2019. She received her pharmacy degree at Capital Medical University in Beijing and her TCM diploma at JJTCM in Ontario. She has experience and clinical training in China on TCM and Acupuncture. She is currently studying in MPH (Master of Public Health) at Brown University. She has been in the Traditional Chinese Medicine profession for 4 years in different clinical settings throughout Toronto, including clinics and hospital, as a therapist, business owner and research volunteer.

Kevin Ho - Public Member

Kevin has over 30 years of management and operations experience in industries including the energy sector and retail organizations. He holds an MBA from the University of Bradford (UK) and a BA from Trent University. Kevin’s personal passions include leadership in Freemasonry, travel, and the Blue Jays.

Terry Hui - Professional Member

Terry Hui has been a traditional Chinese medicine practitioner in Ontario for 30 years. In addition to practicing the profession he has extensive experience as an educator. He actively promotes TCM health preservation in the community through teaching Tai Chi and Qi Gong. He was a member of the College’s Transitional Council from 2012-2013, an elected council member of the College from 2013-2018 and was elected as Vice-President from 2017-2018.

Fanny Ip - Professional Member

Fanny Ip is a TCM Practitioner with 20 years of experience. She served as a non-council member on the ICRC of the College from 2018 to 2024 and has been an active contributor to the CARB as an item writer to the examination committee since 2013. Fanny has a strong background in community medical and multidisciplinary practices. She is currently practicing full time at Mount Sinai Hospital in downtown Toronto, where she is a valued member of a multidisciplinary healthcare team, offering TCM treatments. Her experience in both clinical and advisory roles has uniquely positioned her to bridge the gap between traditional and conventional healthcare, advocating for a holistic approach to wellness.

Christine Lang - Professional Member

Christine Lang is a TCM practitioner with 23 years’ experience and previously served on the CTCMPAO Council from 2013-2018. She was VP for a year, served on the Executive Committee and chaired QA and ICRC. She also participated in the CARB item writing and exam rating activities from 2013-2018. Christine has been faculty in Georgian College’s advanced diploma program since the program’s inception in 2016. While program coordinator from 2018-2022 she was tasked to re-write the curriculum during the pandemic, while not only keeping the program, but public patient clinic running to support our community.

Heidi Machel - Public Member

Heidi Machel joins the Board from London, Ontario where she has worked in all three levels of government for more than 15 years. Heidi is also an active community volunteer. She sits on the Board of London Search & Rescue, a local charity which assists law enforcement with the search for missing persons in the catchment area encompassing a radius of 150 km around London. In addition to being on the board, Heidi is also a ground searcher, instructor, fundraiser, and Team Lead. Heidi also enjoys volunteering for community events like Canada Day and JazzFest in the Village. Heidi discovered acupuncture for wellness a decade ago and credits her acupuncturist as an essential part of her self-care.

Deborah Sinnatamby - Public Member

Deborah Sinnatamby comes to the Council with an extensive background in finance and experience with meetings and community support. Ms. Sinnatamby has an Honors BA in Sociology and volunteers with charitable organizations. She was appointed to Council on September 2019.

Jin Qi Zeng - Professional Member

Jin Qi Zeng holds M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in clinic medicine with over ten years’ experience in clinic as neurologist, physician, traditional Chinese medicine doctor and research scientist in mainland China, Hongkong and USA. She is actively involved in communities and charities with numerous volunteer experiences in different non-profit organizations such as SCO Health Service, Canadian Red Cross and Health and Social Services Advisory Committee of City of Ottawa.
